Basic Channel question

yeah I definitely asked myself the same question as hanratty not too long ago & found that bleep has all the basic channel singles available in mp3/flac. Give em a listen, at first blush I found that the tracks that didn't make it to the bcd comps weren't all that essential or substantively different from those that did (basically what ieafs said), although the completist in me will probably cave in for Axis, Phylyps Trak II/I, etc. at some point

rhythm & sound's self-titled still melts my brain cells every time though.

You should buy the original 12" versions anyways. The CD-versions are mostly edited, shorter versions. The Quadrant dub's should be listened to at maximal length (15 and 20 mins).

Tangentially, you should check anything Moritz von Oswald had his hands on. Often forgotten gem, imo is the Moritz mix of Model 500's Starlight. On my 12"'s the labels are switched. So the original is labelled as the Moritz mix. But the one sounding like a basic channel record is obviously the Moritz mix.

Considering Quadrant Dub isn't on either of the self-titled compilations, that one is a definite pick-up.

Quadrant Dub I is track 4 on BCD (albeit edited down to 7 minutes) and a somewhat tweaked version of Quadrant Dub II is also on the Round 1 to Round 5 comp (track 3). Both great choons :music:

I also just discovered that the DownloadHelper plugin works on bleep, thus allowing you to actually preview tracks in full and ascertain their length as well.

you mean it works on the preview player? if so thanks for the pro tip! I've used it to download purchased tracks before.

The quality's decent enough (96k mono, on par to 192k stereo) to help make up your mind if you thinking about plunking down for some flacs

Plus you don't have to click play every 30 seconds :cisfor:
