I can get that impression, albeit fleetingly, in the intro. But once the vocals and handclaps come in, not so much. Anytime I hear these vaguely "underground" or "experimental" sounding pop songs I'm curious if the producers are using certain sample packs or presets...

I've always thought Sean Paul reminds me of Ron Paul...

Yup. It's pretty much exactly The Knife... except the synth in the chorus. But.... their sound is fairly generic anyway... it's more the vocals that make them stand out.

Yeah I can hear it somewhat. Decent dance-pop is getting closer to older "indie" electronic overall. I can listen to something like Royksopp and no longer think it sounds dramatically better a lot of Top40 hip-hop and dance music. And hell, Tiesto and Jonsi worked together.

I think this track definitely has Knife-like vocals, whilst the first track I posted has that Knife production somewhere between Heartbeats and Silent Shout.

i thought the synths were knife-like too. i know what you mean though.

Fucking good song though!

Also, been listening to this recently and I've decided that this is next level. Real organic, fleshy synthpop, almost like the Knife have reached a point similar to where they started only weirder:
