the bass riff that opens common's "be" - what fucking jazz song is it? I can hum the horn line that comes in over top of it but can't remember the name of the tune.

yeah i never said it was a sample - but the riff is like a classic riff. It's almost like the lead from Night in Tunisia, anyways it's probably just "inspired by"...
