sergeantk
...just blend so seamlessly together, not very often you hear three genre-bending songs with so much emotion lined up perfectly, along with Cow Cud Is A Twin to cool down to. But really, it doesn't seem like many artists are emulate the vibes on these few tracks (maybe Kettel at some points but thats all i can think of off of the top of my head)... Well if there is anything like it post it here (mostly to stop this thread from hitting a dead end). morgang
I find the first half of Draft 7.30 to have such good flow and transitions. The songs themselves are pretty distinctly different from one another but specifically the way that they transition from one to the next has always felt really good to me.. I love when albums can achieve that feeling of a really nice flow through a transition without actually crossfading any of the end or beginnings of tracks Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/72514-icbyd-tracks-8-10/#findComment-1782867 Share on other sites

I thought as you, but once I listened to it while being half asleep on the couch... you know, I think it's the best way to listen to music for me, it's like you drop any kind of prejudice with the music you are listening: if the album is good it will shine thru otherwise it will feel dull. Well... ICBYD is really good album if you listen to it without prejudice, it has really deep feelings and soundscapes... but I wouldn't say if it had not happened to listen to it with open ears. ZoeB
I have to agree that ...I Care Because You Do is a bit hit and miss. In my opinion, Portreath Harbour and Redruth School are both better than Come On You Slags, for instance. Still, it's worth it for the absolutely sublime hits, and for how there's really not much else like it at all. (Although I still think Bochum Welt comes close.) Basically, James is great at making music, but not so good about choosing which tracks to group together into an album in my opinion. (His interviews seem to confirm that he doesn't really enjoy the latter either, when he could use that time to instead make more new music...) Maybe he needs an assistant to sift through and group together some of his tracks for him. ;) Assuming that isn't already how it works... Guest isaki
he's mentioned that his mates tell him what tracks to release i do agree with you, though - some tracks go together, some are just "eh? you shouldn't be here..."
