and its absolutely glorious.

seriously, its been nearly two years, and its shocking just how despicable it is to have no internet for yourself.

i read all my books multiple times, watched all my dvds, my attention is too scattered to produce music for much more than an hour a day, i pretty much ended up just getting drunk for half the week solid, every week.

so yeah. mon the internet.

Man, if I didnt have internet I get so much shit done.

this

in my next flat (in about two months), I plan to leave my PC "unplugged". Then I'll have to use my laptop for internet and my desktop computer for music and the waste of time doing nothing on internet will become even more obvious.

I have an internet free home since 01.01.10...works very well for me. I read a lot of books, work on music, walk a lot etc...There are times when I want to research some subject (music theory, psychology, history, whatever is rocking my boat at that moment) then I come to library, exchange my books, look on web for information, save the corresponding web pages on my computer, go home, read them, bookmark links/keywords I want to follow deeper and the do it again. I prefer to save on computer and read at home because otherwise I just click on first interesting link and get lost before I have a clear idea what is that I need to read next...But I can totally see that it might not work for other people as I`m such singleton that all that social networking thing does nothing for me and I use email very rarely. WATMM and Renoise boards are the only places I still visit socially (lol?) time by time. So yeah, good for you :)

I expected that you would have come back with a new outlook about how your life was better and more productive without the internet.

I'd miss it too. Not being able to look up a random thought in my head would drive me nuts for a while, but I guess I'd get used to it. I would undoubtedly read a lot more and get around to writing/drawing/creating something.
