Oh dear, me and my poor semi-abandoned blog. I’ve been busy this last few months, but in general I’d much rather do things than document them. I got a regular part-time development job which is going quite well, all will be revealed about that when the project is completed. I’ve also been doing some other bits of freelancing and occasionally hacking away on my own projects – I have a backlog of 12 apps to make now, many of which are half-finished. The urge to knock out a few tracks is building. This is old news but I didn’t want to write it: hearing problems have put the nail in the coffin of my performing career, just in case you were wondering.

that sounds very sad indeed. Did he have an accident or it's simply because he listened to a lot of music playing loud as a musician ?

I'm kind of afraid of losing my hearing abilities at some point, especially when I see my father who's about 55 and who already has problems to hear people talking when there's some noise around...

Yeah... I'm headed to watch a metal band in a while, and already have my ear plugs in my pocket. I've been asked why I where em'. I would think the answer is obvious... I would hate to lose my hearing.

Whatever people might think about Merzbow, I actually truly respect him and think he's one of the most important musicians ever, because of the way he approaches music. In my opinion he also deserved the title of one of the most innovative musicians ever. Excellent example is in my opinion his album Merzbuddha. In my opinion he manages to create something deep and powerful from sounds generally considered non-listenable/enjoyable (for the most people). But that's my opinion only. Somebody on Discogs said this about Merzbow:

"Sure his stuff might sound pretty annoying at times, but if you imagine his music to be a form of vibrational, hypnotic, sonic energy then his music/noise seems to take a new meaning."

Anyway, just wanted to state my opinion (and defend Merzbow, at the same time).
