Portraying Music With Images (an advertising project for making album covers)

Hi there everyone!

Are you interested in knowing what your music might be portrayed as in image form?

My girlfriend, who is a very talented and experienced graphical designer and artist, would like to start a fun challenge for herself of making possible album covers. This is mainly just for fun, but who knows, you might end up with something you´d like to use for your new release!

My girlfriend Joss would like to add more things to her portfolio and would like this to be a challenge for herself, mainly to keep her creative flow going.

She has made album covers in the past and would like to carry on with this exercise, so send in your songs and EP/LP projects for her to work with, and hopefully produce something for you.

You don´t have to do it seriously at first, you can even just give us a project to work with just for fun, and we´ll give it a go! You won´t have to pay unless you want to use it commercially ;)

Would it be possible to see some of her work?

Absolutely!

Here is a poster she made for a Swedish band called Kinetics.

But she is trying to push her boundaries and trying to actually make a challenge of portraying music as closely as possible into image form, so she´s not going to be sticking with one style necessarily.

What would be interesting would be to provide her with a record that has already been released and has artwork, let her listen and dwell upon it without letting her see the artwork, design some artwork for it and compare. Not because the actual artwork is the "correct" one, but to see how similar the artwork would be in terms of aesthetics and style.

You'd of course have to chose a record with artwork that is really meant to be a visual representation of the music - which I personally think all artwork should, but the majority does not.

This sounds quite interesting. If I get anything else new together soon, I'll send it your way.

Well the main idea of this project is actually to provide people with artwork that they don't have yet, just so they might choose to use it if they like.

But yeah, if you would like to see an alternative to choose from, then we´ll gladly take a look at it :)
