For the brothers of my friends who were at least 5-10 years older then me,...I never really got into that whole squelchy 303 thingy..liked hip hop better. How come you are such a fan of this sound, If I may ask? Is this because of your English upbringing, 'cause I don't rate you as a bandwagon acid maker. He's old :wink2: edit: That said upbringing maybe has a part in it, he's from the same town as I am. Deeping acid forever! BCM
Yeah, I am quite old - 28! I've been into Acid House pretty much from 1988/89, but then I was only 11. I had The Greatest Hits of House LP (always amuses me that name - it came out in 1989! Greatest Hits??) and used to love it! I remember skateboarding around with it on my Elconic walkman...... I've been through various musical stages in my youth, and even at one point considered getting into Motorhead and Heavy Metal in general. I went up town to get some metal, but came back with a load of "Rave" CD's....... I just couldn't bring myself to abandon my dance music. As for the Acid sound, I dunno why I really like it as much as I do - all the stereotypical reasons of the amazing tonal qualities and resonance of the TB-303 itself I suppose, but I have really fond memories of hearing Acid with all my mates when we were getting stoned for the first times and dabbling with LSD and stuff. Those Azid Ramcash records Noon was talking about were a really big part of my love affair, and why I've grown to love it so much. I dunno, I just LOVE ACID!! noon said: Azid Ramcash Field of Dreams Tim Unwin FIELD OF DREAMS???? Ha ha ha ha ha..... Go build a baseball stadium. With some ghosts.
