most IDM watch?

Recommended Posts

i was looking at watches the other day while my gf was shopping elsewhere, and they've got some pretty futuristic/cool looking ones out there these days. i haven't worn a watch since i was 12, but i've been considering trying it out again...and i've got some money coming from a tax refund...

so my question here, what is the most IDM watch?

alternate thread topic if you boo this one: things i could do that would be a better purchase with ~$100.

double alternate: things wrong with the American income tax.

also, there was an old post from 2009 about wrist watches, but almost all the pics were down, so i didn't think it was worth resurrecting. http://forum.watmm.com/topic/48914-wrist-watches/page__hl__+idm%20+watches__st__25

That should about cover it.

Now I feel sad that I don't wear a watch. I actually have one but I don't wear it because with my head I'm bound to forget it somewhere and I can check the time anyway from my phone.

i know everybody's entitled to their own opinion, and i know this is about "idm watches", but i'm sorry—tokyo flash has some of the kitschiest watches i've ever seen. why not just carry a tricorder around?

i would suggest the simpler watchface design options, but that's just me

edit: although i also have this 24-hour russian watch, which i think you could argue is pretty idm. except the fact that it's a poor recreation of some random watch from the 50s or 60s (i'm guessing), and as a hand-wound watch, does not actually keep time at all. -_-

the guantanamo watch (Casio F-91W) is pretty IDM, I wonder if there's a gold edition for lawyers or so.

That looks really familiar. I think I had one or something really similar when I was a kid. :cerious:

ky, that first watch is sexy as hell.

for $795 it goddamn better be. lol nah seriously though, if i had the kind of income that'd warrant such extravagant purchases, i'd get it asap. i have yet to pay more than $50 for a watch, but the minimalist analog watch face designs i've seen make me want to drop at least twice or three times that.

totally beats the hell out of 100 LEDs on a watch, imo.

oh come on, it's not like there are infinite hours in the day...granted, if it was a 24-hour watch, i would draw some hour tickmarks on it with a marker or throw it out the window.

edit: I believe the time on that watch is 10:09

I'm wearing that one, but with a lighter grey colour scheme. Also why the hell does it have 4 arms on the pic.

The pebble thing looks cool, e-paper is way better for this than a regular display I guess. Should be round though.
