Project Drugs

Hey folks, I started a little project for my next release. It's called Project Drugs. It'll be a while before it's finished, but I have 3 songs as a teaser. Keep in mind that I quickly rendered the songs for the purpose of a teaser, so they may not sound the same once the project is done.

Project Drugs eh? What does that consist of then? ;)

I liked the first one the most. The beat is really great and simple. A lot of people underestimate simple beats like that. And the synths put me in a really good place too. Would´ve maybe wanted to hear a little more chordal variation, but otherwise it´s very nice.

I really like in general how you use very simple beats in everything, a lot of people don´t like that on this site I would imagine, but it´s very much to my taste.

Thanks for listening Hermann. Glad you enjoyed it. The drugs I use for this project will not be illicit at all. They will consist only of prescription medication whether narcotic or not. The songs, to an extent, represent the effects of the drug. I'm doing TEC-3 Tylenol/Codeine pills next. Most of the drugs I use will be things that I am either currently on or have taken in the past.

The reason I make the beat simple is because I want to keep the song as close to the ambient genre as IDM can get. That's what my personal taste likes. And as long as I like it, I'll be happy with the outcome. It makes any artist feel good when others like what they've done. Even if the people that like it number only in the few.

I started listening to the first track posted but I stopped at about 1:47 due to lack of interest. However I did listen to codeine after that because I love codeine and I though that was a far more engaging selection. I like your synths a lot better than your drums if I was you I would fuck with your percussion a little more. Nice work and all that though you know.

thanks for listening. I'll continue to work on the percussion. Keep in mind these are not the finished product. So all comments are welcome as to what I can do to make these tunes better.
