Nigel Godrich & Thom Yorke Spin Fingerbib in DJ set

Recommended Posts

I was just at this free event tonight...

Anyway, they were tag-teaming. It was truthfully a bit lame.

Nigel would spin a bit and get the party going toward a more dance/breakbeat/hip-hop vibe and then Thom would come in and ruin the party flow with some reverb-y, ambient, original compositions. It was kinda cool, but neither of them was that great of a DJ. There were a few trainwrecks.

Anyway. Nigel dropped the Fingerbib in the mix. Not exactly an immense surprise.

TBH, I was hoping they would throw in some Major Lazer, for good measure.

lol, i expect threads like these from Revitute. Its always good to know some dj somewhere in the world used an afx track in their set.

I thought twice about starting a thread about it. It's a bit lame, I admit.

I probably should have done a search for a thread where people post when they hear AFX songs in DJ sets but I was out and only had my mobile.

If there isn't a thread already, maybe I'll rename this. That would be a more interesting topic fer sher.

I don't even really like Radiohead, for the record. It was free and someone else reserved tix for me.

If Thom was actually cool, he would have dropped Steinvord, instead... or You Can't Hide Your Love (Hidden Love). Fingerbib is about the most "white bread" afx DJ selection I can think of, IMO.

Wondowlicker would have even been better.

*edit*

Found the thread I should have posted in....

Yeah, not to be a pretentious AFX fan but dropping Fingerbib on a DJ set is not that impressive, its like "we get it, you like Aphex Twin's more popular stuff, fuck off"

Anyways here is Thom Yorke being cool AKA pretending to be cool but looking like an anorexic horse having a seizure.

Yeah, I would never drop Fingerbib at a DJ set unless I had turned it into a more dance type song. I mean that song is not meant for people trying to have a good time.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.
