Free software for encoding MP3s etc etc

I've been using Super but the latest version doesn't seem to have installed properly and I find it a bit annoying. is there a decent freeware (completely free) piece of software for encoding audio. Mainly I want to take FLACs and re-encode as Apple Lossless/M4A.

you on a mac? I just use an app simply called "MP3 Converter" that I found on the App Store for free.... works like a treat and handles FLAC, AAC, MP3, M4a etc etc

IMO, dbpoweramp music converter is the best of the lot. It's easy to use, there are free codecs for pretty much every format (including all of the lossless and lossy apple formats), it has multi-core support (IE you can convert four songs at once with a quad-core), etc.

edit: not free though lol. it has a trial, but seriously, I highly recommend you just pirate it.

yeah pirate that shit, it's the best. you can right click a selection of files and convert it to anything

I actually paid for dbpoweramp and it worked better when I had the pirated version.
