if the label on the cd is not pressed but a paper sticker, rephlex is entering the ridiculous zone of doing things on the cheap side.

i prefer the cheap side to the release indefinitely postponed side any day.

Hmm, beside this there is a serious question for me why they delay and delay all the time since a few releases. Zwischenwelt springs to mind.

That is not speaking for a pro business…

I don't think they are reprinting The Tuss (the seller probably changed cases or something). But if they are reprinting .. fuck you Rephlex, why do they spend money reprinting The Tuss when they can't even get Jodey Kendrick's album ready for release?

Would be interesting to get some inside infos why their distribution and release politics aren't the same like years ago. And not to forget the aggressive plastic sleeves they used which made some vinyl foggy and unplayable. Things that SHOULD NOT happen more than one time …………

I think they just stopped giving a fuck now, in the past they wouldn't have done such a thing...

they had high standards, for Analord they tried different pressing plants just to get it right.

Yes, the vinyl is excellent and they even cared for some digital bonus stuff but hey, the last releases I had the feeling they tested my petience.

Rephlex has always been very extreme in their quality control... on one hand you have packaging masterpieces like the Analord series and Universal Indicator Green (I am sure there are plenty of other examples), and then you have stuff like the subject of this thread and far too many other examples of just simply not giving a fuck. The PVC sleeves for stuff like the Caustic Window Compilation on vinyl though are the worst, as your rare release gets ruined and you can't enjoy the music, which is always been Rephlex's manifesto "it's all about the music".

I bet that was Richard's doing - that kind of obsessive quality control sounds like him, especially considering all the hard work he put into the Analord series.

My copy was purchased in late 2007, has an etched plastic label on the disc, but has the sticker on the cover like the second one ie the "new" one.

I'm really looking forward to checking the mail this weekend and opening my Rushup Edge record. I paid like 80 bucks for it, but fuck it.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

imho its not rephlex's fault, its the stores like boomfagg whose fucking CMS does not accept NULL for release date. so every 14 days they set a new one.
