For those not wanting to bother reading it: No mention of upcoming albums... only a brief mention of the Radio Silence.

Yeah good read. I couldn't be bothered to paste it up, knew somebody would!

All in all, it's just pleasent to be reading something about BOC.

It's weird how this Radio Silence quote you used Joyrex seems to of caught on.....

Is that now the official name for the years between 2006 and 2012?

Edited by beerwolf

I've always just used it to describe the lack of information from Boards of Canada regarding a new release

A bit harsh on Campfire Headphase; i agree it's not their best, but hardly a Zero 7 soundalike record.

Other than that, a decent read.

Good article. Like the point about their influence - there's a lot of that lazy Instagram aesthetic around music these days.

There's a lot of that lazy Instagram aesthetic with everything these days. I thought there was a problem with my TV the other day when I watched an advert break and every single one was desaturated and used obscenely unnatural colour grading.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

i'm surprised people are getting it just now. i remember writing about it on some early chillwave write up in 2009 (i'm very cutting edge, and it was in print, no blogs). i'm sure it really blew up later, but stuff like midas touch and especially trapped really foresaw the chillwave movement and greatly influenced it. it's nice seeing credit where it's due.

Don't get me wrong - I do like Ariel Pink and Washed Out, but it's turned into a shorthand for 'cool' or 'meaningful', which fucks me right off.

After such a great article, although the writing is a bit pedantic, it's pretty disappointing how he tosses TCH aside so cavalierly. If it's so bad, clearly it warrants some discussion. It almost feels like he got tired of writing at the end there.

Why does this journalist refer to them as Eoin and Sandison? We've known they're brothers for years. All in all, could be a better article, but I suppose it will expose more people to Hell Interface.

I think it was to give the article some sort of plot... later on (during Campfire era) it is revealed that they are indeed brothers, which they do address
