Sonically, it's comparable... There are definitely not any links to my lo-fi origins. It's so diverse but so different from anything I've done before. In a sense, it's really the record I wanted to make back when I made Before Today, but couldn't due to pressures and different factors. We had time to let our hair down and try new things... I'm not making too many stylistic changes... I'm not making dubstep. I'm doing everything the way I always do it: retro-licious, for lack of a better word.

From what I gather, he is basically saying, "itll be cool I think, wait and hear for yourself"

" Last law bearing means that any reformer or Prophet will be a subordinate of the Holy Prophet (saw) and no new Messenger and Prophet with a new religion, book or decree will come after him. Everything from him will be under the banner of Islam only."

he wrote today that he broke up the band. probably a prank, though.

love this guy since 2005 or so. saw him twice live and he's great. i think as a band they're better live than they'll ever be on a record as it seems like he wrote all the great songs 10 years ago and now it's just being weird. and old songs sound really powerfull live.

aw, that's for real? fuck, i always liked the stuff i saw them perform on youtube etc., wanted to catch them live someday. too bad.

meanwhile - the local maternity ward - nurse comes in with a great big sledgehammer

shame, though doldrums > before today, and i imagine the band was more for live performance, revenue, more exposure. as long as there is more output someway

I've heard many times that he's so great live. I like his music a lot, but when I saw him live I actually walked out because I couldn't stand it. This was awhile ago. Usually I'll stick it out and try to enjoy. anyway, I'm still a fan and looking forward to this.

honestly, all of his albums have as much shit on them as gems. but those two are probably the strongest. most people will say the doldrums or before today because p4k told them to.

wtf pitchfork gave doldrums a 5.5...

for the records I found the doldrum before I heard about ariel on pitchfork. not that it really matters either nor does pitchforks approval of something warrant it being considered worse by some

Where should I start out with this guy? I've only heard the 'Before Today' album.

doldrums if you want epic kate bushness, house arest if you want a stream of smooth pop hits (alisa <3). rest is very hit or miss.

whoever brought up p4k gets a pucnh in the nose. seriously? ariel established himself well before they gave him proper credit for his work. stop caring what they think now.

agreed
