monitor controller? A/B input switch?

Recommended Posts

Alreet,

I'm in the process of switching from a speaker/amp set up to powered monitors, but still need to be able to input multiple sources (rca, line level) to the monitors.

Is there any reason why a very simple passive A/B input selector switch wouldn't do the job? Something like:

Or is there a reason why I should fork out a bit more on something like this, bearing in mind my monitors have volume control on the front, and I need multiple inputs, not outputs?

I've used a Behringer MON800 daily for a number of years without any problems at all. 4 sources can be switched in, (loud) headphone amp, 3 speaker sets, mono switch, 20dB pad, even a talkback mic. I know (first-hand) Behringer products can be hit or miss in reliability terms but the MON800 is a hit for me. £40-45

Thanks, but not sure if the Behringer is passive. Don't have anything against Behringer per se, but wouldn't want to stick anything active in the signal path. Not at that price point.
