Bloc Festival accommodation suggestionsss

Recommended Posts

Really not sure where I should be posting this - it falls under many a sub-forum, yet at the core is just asking about accommodations....

anywho-

Myself and hopefully a few other fellow Irish are heading over to Bloc festival in July

http://www.blocweekend.com/lineup/

However, I some what jumped the gun and booked a ticket without sorting accommodation - the website has loads of suggested hotels listed, but only 1 hostel

Can anyone recommend any cheap cheap accommodation around the Bloc festival area? The hostel suggested seems to be asking for 52 yo yos for 2 nights. Is this probably the best i'll do, or is there hope yet?

I'll be going. I've got a Travelodge booked about 1/2 miles away from the event. It's costing £30 pppn. I couldn't get much cheaper and closer than that. We've only booked for one night at the moment. Will probably got straight home after the second night.

its funny - friday night is only £52, saturday is £79 - Bloc goes on to 6 am i believe each night - so if one was to JUST get the friday night hotel room - you'd get kicked out of the room by 12 midday on saturday (if not earlier) because it technically becomes a new day by then - but if you go with the Saturday night also then you're in the same boat come sunday morning -you'd get 4 or 5 hours out of it, max

whats a boy to do...

You can pay a bit extra for an extension into Saturday afternoon. My plan is to wear clothes on Friday that I'll chuck when I leave the hotal on Saturday. Then just wear the rest until I get home. I don't really wanna pay for two nights.

innnteresting - I shall look into that

also - would you have any suggestions as to how to get to the place from a starting point of Victoria Coach Station, London?

They say the best way is to get the DLR train to Pontoon Dock - can I hop on any tube nearby Victoria Coach Station and expect it to direct me in the way of the DLR system? Or is there any other way to get there that you might recommend?

You could get on the Circle Line at Victoria and got to Tower Hill. Then jump out, go round the corner and jump on the DLR at Tower Gateway and go straight there.

  • 2 weeks later...

By now everyone will have heard that Bloc 2012 was closed due to crowd safety concerns.

We are all absolutely devastated that this happened, but the safety of everyone on site was paramount.

Given the situation on the ground, we feel that it was the right decision to end the show early.

Bloc will not open on Saturday 7th July so please don’t come to the site.

Stand by for full information on refunds.

wtf, kobeboka just traveled to the uk to watch this on purpose, such bad luck. :\
