BOC - Corsair (Petrou Remix)

Hey guys, i never really post on this forum but i am quite the boc-head. I have just finished a remix of Corsair, one of my favourite songs of all time. Not 100% sure if its cool to post it in this subforum, but ill take the risk lol, let me know what you guys think :)

feedback anyone?

Not my cup o' tea, but it's relatively well done. The whoosh sound you used is a bit cheesy/grating to my ears and I'm not a fan of the way you sidechained or compressed or whatever the kick drum/ mix. Like the rest of the percussion, though and your use of the actual song is about all I could expect from such a piece. Got pretty bored in the latter half and honestly didn't finish the song, but the first few minutes is listenable and seems well produced, just not a style I enjoy.

PS you don't post much at all, this is BOC forum, and this should go in EKT/Your Latest Creations so don't expect many responses.

I actually really liked this remix... I don´t know if it´s just because you used this great song to remix or if it just really works..

I think Sprigg´s criticism is spot on and I definitely think it would benefit the track if it were taken into consideration..

I do have two points to make though:

- The little plinky melody that comes in at 4:56 in my listening doesn´t feel like the harmonies really coincide with that of the corsair chords that come back in after 6 minutes.. although it does sound nice on its own, it just feels like two seperate melodies later on... Also when it comes in it feels a bit too sudden.

- To make this a really great dance track, I feel you need to put some more techniques in there that are common of this kind of techno beat track, like breaks and bringing back the beat and just really simple things like that that would just be really orgasmic and would make the whole track come alive a lot more and make people unable to sit still ;)

(- oh yeah, and I´m not a big fan of the dirtiness of the kick drum, a similar one maybe just a bit cleaner-sounding would be good I think)

.. I would really love to use this track in one of my DJ sets one night, but maybe if you´re planning on enhancing it I can wait and would appreciate very much if you could maybe let me know when/if you make another version? ;)

thanks a lot for the feedback mate, i will take this into consideration and maybe alter it and re upload. i might remove that whole seccond melody and change it aroundf a little, i have noticed it does need a breakdown haha cheers :)

Nice remix, I don't recognize the original tune thought... Still, it's ambient & minimal, all the good ingredient for a good remix! The only drawback is that sine arp somewhere in the middle, I'm not sure about it, it ends up fitting but when it plays alone it sounds misplaced.
