This sounds like vintage Why? I liked the last release, but this sounds awesome.

not loving the preview track. liking but not loving. verses great but don't really like the chorus. still very excited for new why.

My guess would be a bit of both. Their best album, imo at least, is Alopecia, and that has a nice blend of the two. Eskimo Snow, although nice, went too much in the way of songs for my taste.
