Roland JV-1080 (expansion boards)

I've got a JV-1080 headed my way, minus any expansion boards. Can anyone recommend some of the better expansion boards to keep an eye out for?

Probably the techno, vintage synth and hip hop ones. I've got a JV1080 too. Its okay but I will confess I've haven't used it much recently. Strong rich pads are definitely its hallmark.

Cheers, yeah I've been eyeing the vintage - am I right that you can get that on a board that has a few other boards' worth of content included?

Don't think so. The expansion boards are usually pretty expensive considering the unit itself can be picked up for £100 odd. I like the JV1080 but hate to admit I haven't used it much recently.

- Techno

- Vintage Synth

Should keep me busy. The JV arrived the other day, and is near mint. It has been in storage since 2000 and obviously barely used before then. I strongly aim to rectify that!

I had an XP-50 with the techno expansion board like 14 years ago. Those techno sounds will probably sound pretty good now as their dated quality will likely be retro-cool at this point.
