Anyone else heard this?

2xLP vinyl only album. Dark and eastern sounding synth noodling ala krautrock. Was pleasantly suprised by it.

label blurb

  Quote
"Moving further into territories of experimental electronics comes debut album from Brooklyn artist Jahiliyya Fields. This double LP evokes emotions of equal pain, passion, beauty, and disgust as it delves into areas of the psyche many are afraid to come in contact with. Read between the lines, close your eyes, and listen. Not unlike new age music of the past meeting the harsh textures of the early industrial pioneers, this music serves as another narrative to our quickly deteriorating Western societal structure. Outsider music for those of us pushed to the side and living on the fringe. Pressed loud on 4 sides for maximum aural damage!"

strange artist name. is that an actual phrase Rushdie used?

Dunno, I haven't read any Rushdie. I generally don't like when musicians get involved in politics, but this guy is a total unknown from Brooklyn and the label seems to want to keep it that way, so thankfully I haven't encountered any interviews yet.

Anyways, I think I've listened to this maybe 5+ times the past few days. One of the best albums I've heard this year. If I had to describe it, I'd say it sounds like a very slightly eastern tinged Tangerine Dream record.

"White Cabbage" is on some SERIOUS Coil worship. I love it.

Oh man I know nothing about Coil except they are important. Where should I start if I liked this LP?
