Sorry, I use Soundhound on my iphone; that was the only desktop software I could quickly find that could do a similar task.

if you know it's popular, then shouldn't you find other examples of it online? Was it in a commercial?

it's not the original, i only covered the melody the singer sings

took me a good 3 hours to make that

lol at twin peaks. i know it sounds like twin peaks but it's not.

if my memory is correct, it's very new-wavey and the singing is staccato, it kinda has a similar feel to 'love will tear us apart' by joy division.

Yeah I remember it too and is now bugging me! I think the ad used quite different instrumentation - it was early 90s I think.
