couple really weird video games

2. Desert Bus - The objective of the game is to drive a bus from Tucson, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada in real time at a maximum speed of 45mph. The feat requires 8 hours of continuous play to complete, since the game cannot be paused.

The bus contains no passengers, and there is no scenery or other traffic on the road. The bus veers to the right slightly; as a result, it is impossible to tape down a button to go do something else and have the game end properly. If the bus veers off the road it will stall and be towed back to Tucson, also in real time. If the player makes it to Las Vegas, they will score exactly one point. The player then gets the option to make the return trip to Tucson—for another point (a decision they must make in a few seconds or the game ends). Players may continue to make trips and score points as long as their endurance holds out. Some players who have completed the trip have also noted that, although the scenery never changes, a bug splats on the windscreen about five hours through the first trip, and on the return trip the light does fade, with differences at dusk, and later a pitch black road where the player is guided only with headlights.

You’ll win the game if you’re the only one playing the game at the moment in the world. The game checks over the internet if there are other people playing it at the moment and it’ll kill the game if someone else is playing it. You have to play the game for 4 minutes and 33 seconds

It’s an exploration to what actually defines a game. You can win or fail in the game, but there is no user input or interactivity of any kind. I was tempted to leave the graphics out completely, but I figured that the white progress bar is abstract enough.

I used to make a lot of games like that. For example, I made one called "Mini-Game" which was, well, "mini", being only a few pixels big. I also made a typing game which started off extremely easy and a few minutes in would flood the screen with letters. All my games are on my other computer so I unfortunately can't upload them right now.

But there's also Dungeon, a game which is different on every computer you play it on. On some machines, it's impossible to win. The actual game isn't as interesting as the comments made in the thread.

"The Terrible Whiteness of Appalachian Nights" is a good place to start (nsfw). Text-based game where you play a house wife who sleeps all day and has to deal with depression, boredom, and her unloving family's night-terrors. I'm making it sound better than it is though.

If anyone finds the game where you're a chick who walks through a city and all of her girlfriends die, tell me the name of it. I liked the art-style.

Edit: Anyone know if the ending changes for "You only die once" based on how far you got? I died immediately and I got a lady calling 911, the ambulance, a news report, and then I stopped.
