Fabfilter

Fabfilter is running a sale, and I'm so tempted to buy the rest of their products I don't own.

Does anyone have any opinions on their mastering/mixing plugins and Saturn?

are they worth the price? Even on sale they are expeeeensive.

Well if you already own fabfilter stuff, its even cheaper.

I've bought Twin, Timeless and Volcano. They are all badass, but I find myself using Volcano less and less over time. The UI's and sound are real nice though.

btw Tassman is available for $99 until somewhere in August.. regular price is $350! not sure if I should get that but ok, quality sound engine but it's a fiddly to work with.

fabfilter's eq and compressor have become my go to plugins for everything. the eq's spectrum underlay is sooooo useful, and i love the way the compressor visualizes the gain reduction waveform as opposed to traditional gain reduction meters. extremely handy. then there's the filters, some of the best i've heard. love all the different filter types in volcano. the new saturation plugin is fucking awesome too, so nice for subtle loudness stuff that just give your music more oomph. i love whatever it's doing with the built in compression that seems to squash the dynamic range the further up you turn the knob.

fabfilter is an excellent example of virtual plugins and instruments in the digital domain pushing boundaries in interface design. fuck replicating 30 year old analog hardware.

Their EQ, limiter, saturation effect and timeless are all in my top VST's to use now. The GUI is so nice and clean on all of them, midi mapping is a synch and the little help windows are awesome!

I have the rest of the bundle, but really have yet to use it a lot.

Going to make a decision on this today, will probably buy it.

And I am the same way, I stopped pirating stuff a while back, so when I finally do make a decision to purchase something (and yes I bought Numerology as well) I usually dive really deep into it, and end up pimping it hard if I love it.

However there are a few plugins I've bought that are so badass that I don't like to tell people about ;)
