In May 2011 the acclaimed sub bass scientist travelled to Havana, Cuba with Brownswood boss Gilles Peterson to record and collaborate with local musicians. The results are documented on his album – simply titled ‘Mala in Cuba’ – scheduled for release on 10^thSeptember 2012.

The album will be preceded by a 12” featuring ‘Cuba Electronic’ and ‘Calle F’ released on 6th August 2012.

There 1st track is wicked, not so kean on the 2nd but reckon i will be getting the album when it comes out in September

Both tracks are pretty hard. That warpy effect and the aquatic keys in Calle F are the shit. I guess the boxset is almost sold out, and there don't seem to be any American distributors. Bummer. Will have to settle on the CD.

Box set arrived today - the lp is actually pretty lush, definitely fitting the mini-heatwave london's got today.

catchy stuff, really nice tunes. Should of got the boxset but the cd will do.

i was going 2 the shop 2 buy it... but the seller told me it'll b out on october, 10th...

Exceptional album, great concept, incredible production!

I got this one today, wow i'm happy with this album, some of Mala's best work i didn't expect it.

That sub/bass and the whole production is killer and the tracks are pretty diverse

great release!

My only gripe is that it's a bit ordinary, as in middle-of-the-road and a bit conservative. None the less it's a very cool album indeed.

In what way? Just curious.
