Guest Adam
So my headphones got broken, one phone was not working. The problem was in the cable from one phone to another, so I changed it with simple audio cable that i cut from 3,5 to rca cable. I'm sure that cable is fine for that purpose. But now everything is really screwed up, the bass only plays on the phone that used to not work. When I turn pan to any side 100% only some instrumenst play even though they are mono in the track. I'm thinking it might be something with phase no? But anyway its really weird, it would sound different with invert phase than it does now. I'm completely new to soldering and electronics so I think I screwed something, is there any special way to solder audio wires? As far as I understand the audio is very sensitive to how wires are soldered and I'm not very sensitive to them. Anyway HALP! Her'es my phones btw Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/75077-help-me-fix-my-headphones/ Share on other sites
mcbpete
It could be that you've accidentally shorted out the joint you've soldered. Try cleaning up the joint by removing the solder and try resoldering it again. ascdi
I dunno man. Sounds like you fucked it up. Maybe it was wired M-S instead of L-R? Did you try the search engine Google Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/75077-help-me-fix-my-headphones/#findComment-1860056 Share on other sites

murve33
I was going to start a thread like this too. My headhpones are similar to Adam's (circumaural) but the left phone broke off of the rest of it. It's only hanging by a wire. I tried superglue, but the surface is too fragmented to catch. Right now it's duct taped. If anyone known a better way to fix them let me know. Guest Adam
Fucking hell. I don't get it. both phones are wired separately, sygnal, ground. I dunno if its everywhere like this but anyway. The left phone is the one that has a short wire inside the cup, right is wired with that long wire over the top, that one is broken i changed it and its fine. Now the left one that wasnt broken, its playing only higher frequencies, also even when i turn pan all the way to left, right is still quitly playing. I didn't even touch that wire, its stupid or what. Also how can it leak. WAT A FUCK. I resoldered it, now it looks normal. Could it be because the wire that I replaced is now like 2 times bigger than that another one? So it takes 2 times more power? Stupid electronics. Here's how it looks Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/75077-help-me-fix-my-headphones/#findComment-1861603 Share on other sites

Actually that may well be it (though this is only a guess as I'm not sure of the tolerances of the thing) could it be that you'd inadvertently increased the impedance of the right headphone speaker by using the thicker cable. We need a physicist stat (and not a physician as I originally wrote) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.
