but paulstretch is a great tool?

It is, but making an entire piece of music out of a stretched version of something else has been DONE. I agree it's useful for making pad sounds out of absolutely anything, but 99% of people don't use it in a creative way.

If you really like droney ambience?

I agree that taking someone else's piece of music, and then stretching it 20x is indeed lazy and boring, but as long as you do everything yourself, it's hella cool. It's an excellent tool for making really minimal ambient tracks.

Long Live PaulStretch, even though i find sometimes xenakios Hourglass more entertaining as it is MIDI connectible/controllable, and the parameters can be assigned to knobs on a controller. Even though its more of a granular synthesis tool, it has a controllable Play Speed parameter and this way stretches the sound while playing, tweaking the other parameters while doing that can make some interesting sonic results.

What i love about PaulStretch, apart from the stretch function of course, is the mixer with available controllers of various Octaves of the original sound, some nice sounds can come out by combining them and give a richer, deeper sound and ambiance.

Nothing to do with Boards of Canada (since nobody posted any slowed down versions), moving to Music Discussion.

Shouldn't that be 'lllllllloooooooollllllll'?

The binaural beats thiing that I found through the paulstretch website is seriously awesome though.

I'd actually like to hear that in a slowed down boc track. And it does nice things for your brain. Apparently.
