Atoms for Peace

You may have heard that I have a new project called Atoms for Peace.

The name comes from some shows of The Eraser that happened a couple of years ago with Mauro, Joey, Nigel and Flea.

We got a big buzz from them and discovered loads of energy from transforming the music from electronic to live, and so afterwards, we carried on for a few days in the studio and decided to make it a loose, on-going thing.

Immersed in the area between the two…electronic and live.

The first tune we'd like you to hear is Default

A 12" vinyl version will follow next month and an album will eventually follow that next year.

I almost feel like that first single slipped a few radars because it was just remixes.

The music is really good stuff though. The production on the Other Side remix is really, pretty, pretty good.

edit: second listen sounds alright when pushed loud

do you think flea really played bass on this? he must be bored as fuck recording with atoms. although i guess he doesn't really get to funk out in RHCP anymore either.

Maybe Flea is getting into programming and other facets of production; I'm not sure any of us would've believed this was John Frusciante if we didn't already know that he was collabing with Snares intermittently as Speed Dealer Moms..

I figured that was kinda the case, as I didn't really notice that signature Flea bass anywhere in this, I still like it a lot though....

BTW was the latest RHCP any good? I consider myself a big RHCP fan but I'm hesitant with the lack of Frusciante on it.

it doesnt have the funk, or the mass sex in it, but itsa truely great cd, true emotions of family run all through it.

i love Stadium Arcadium, but it has a few wierd hits, but Im with yOU is solid.
