Yeah, Oceanic is a great album... it's the one that got me into Isis... I'm not sure if I like Oceanic or Panopticon more though... I also need to re-listen to Wavering Radiant

in the absence is severely underrated

severely. these days, i listen to it a hell of a lot more than any other Isis album.

got to see them live just before they split. tiny venue in Sheffield, only half full (sadly). They put on a stunning performance, it felt like the place was going to cave in. Awesome.

I think they got better with every album

I'm inclined to agree with this, although Panopticon still tops the lot for me personally. but there's no denying their craft improved with each record, definitely.

yea, i should have clarified that. wavering radiant is not my favorite but it continued the trend of building on the last record. they were very consistent with that. they made minor shifts to their sound, refining and tweaking. i absolutely loved them. funny to listen to mosquito control and wavering radiant back to back and see hoe different they got but from album to album it was very slight. the biggest jump was either oceanic or in the absence.

this is bliss.

many thanks for posting.

Also - i get the feeling Panopticon is their best work, and the 2 albums that preceeded it started to actually lessen in quality - having said that, i should re-listen to them all in a row and see how i feel

everyone also aware that they've since broken up?

if by preceded do you mean followed, i strongly disagree.

indeed, i do mean followed!

also, i had no idea Celestial was a full album, always thought it was an old EP before the band had fully formed - I must get my ears around it quick sharp.
