Brain Dance is Sexy Compilation/Calendar

Participate in a weird new kind of compilation!

It will be part album, part calendar, with each of the artists behind the 12 final tracks featured on one of the calendar's months in a photo and short interview. They will be technically safe for work, but not necessarily safe for your reputation at work.

Each track should land somewhere between sexy cyber funk and general IDM badassery.

Each photo will be a sexy, awkward, or perhaps even strangely unappetizing picture of the artist, preferably with music gear of some sort. These will be high definition, preferably taken by someone who knows what they're doing. Examples include: wearing nothing but a 303, dancing all silly in your studio, and staring at your computer intently in your underwear/bath robe.

Each interview will be a few simple questions. Think of it like a compacted version of the Q&A thing they do with models in all those magazines that are stuffed with pictures of models.

Option 1: Just do it all digital and let people print it out if they want.

This way is probably the easiest, though we'd have to get decent photographers for free or cheap. We could probably just throw it on bandcamp with individual art for each track and interviews on each track page. Tack a pdf onto the main page and that's it.

Option 2: Kickstarter

We can do a Kickstarter for it and as long as enough people think it's hilarious and/or strangely rad, we'll be able to print them for cheap through Lulu or something similar and ship 'em out. If we get enough, we could even make CDs too.

This would be a fantastically fun thing to do.

I'm down if I can manage it. The photo thing will be complicated as people are all over the place. I can look into professional printing, and also designing the thing. I wouldn't mind throwing that at my studio here. Let me know if that's interesting. :)

I'm gonna try and throw together a big plan for it tomorrow or Friday and then we can get the ball rolling, but don't let that keep you from working on your tracks! Get to it!

I know a professional photographer so can get a decent quality photo of myself!

the interviews might be interesting if the music is good. definitely wouldn't pay money for photos of you pasty assholes though, they're free in general banter.
