How many of you have cried over a BoC track? and which ones

None of the tracks have made me cry, but I can see how some of them can make you cry if you are in that certain type of moood, but then I think its more the mood than the BOC tracks in particular that make you cry...Tears From the compund Eye is a real beauty and Farewell Fire is also really melancholic. But the closest any artist has ever been to make me cry of just the music it must be Brian Eno (and Harold Budd), the whole Ambient 2: The Plateaux Of Mirror album makes me so sentimental and nostalgic that I feel almost pain in my stomack, I been close to crying a lot of times to that one...

But seriously why these tracks!?

A Is To B As B Is To C

& . . . . . . . . . Magic Window!

Explain

Jesus wept

I used to hear "jesus wept" in An Eagle In Your Mind, even though it doesn't say that. Listen to it around 02:27.

Also, this thread is what happens when emo people find out about Boards of Canada.

The first time I heard Roygbiv was also a great sensation...never heard anything like that before...I thought "wow this is it! got to get all of this artists material, this is amazing and original stuff", im never getting tired of that one

You need to calm down and stop dicking up this subforum, Mr. Mekon.

I initially though this thread was ridiculous, but then remembered I'd actually cried during "Satellite Anthem Icarus". For some reason, the first little synth melody that came in reminded me of my dad. I had this vision of him getting old and dying, with the two of us somehow going seperate ways and forgetting each other. I was so upset by it, I called him the next day. Invited him down to the farm, and we went for a long hike in the woods all day together.

HAY GUYS THAT'S A TRUE STORY ROOT THAR. YESSIR.

Don't know if a BoC track has made me cry, but I got over a bad breakup by listening to Kid For Today on repeat. I find that track and 5-9-78 the most soothing tracks I can think of.

Come to think of it, Slow This Bird Down almost made me tear up the other day.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

Strange, Farewell Fire just gave me that feeling for the very first time today. Sometimes you just can't even play that shit cuz you feel like you'll just snap if you give yourself over to the melody.

Probably got it because I'm transfering out of NYU's business school Stern to Tisch, their performance arts school to study cinema and film production. That's a change Tischies and Sternies are opposites.

But that's BoC: analyze every aspect of their music and you'll find diametrics in everything.

Once, I went 6 months listening to absolutely nothing but their discography, mainly Geogaddi. Not a fanboy but the music just hypnotised me. Went literally two weeks with two hours of sleep with Geogaddi, amphetamines, and Jamba Juice in my fucking lunchbox right in the middle of the semester. Did some of the craziest shit that month, good lord jesus

Cool, I have several friends in Tisch, I think they all graduated last year though

My friend and I think the Business building is the most menacing thing ever, just belching smoke and producing greed
