Guest TVHEAD
Since I'm sick of doing that kind of stuff in FL Studio 10, I really need a suggestion for this kind of stuff. I'm playing in a band, so I would like to practice mixing and mastering, but need a better software so we don't have to pay for that kind of stuff (I already did few of these, you can download drum, bass, guitar, vocal tracks for practice). So, please help! Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/75685-does-anyone-know-a-good-mixng-and-mastering-software/ Share on other sites
Soloman Tump
In my experience you don't need better software, you just need to be better at it. Maximus is pretty handy in FLStudio though, and the rest can be sorted out with EQ if you have some decent headphones. Someone here will probably have views otherwise though. BCM
wrong forum i guess... anyway, for recording a band i wouldn't use Fruity Loops no. i'd got for Reaper or EnergyXT - multitrack DAW software (which is very reasonably priced, like $50 or less) - you can use Reaper indefinitely in evaluation mode (which still allows you to save etc) so it's effectively free if you don't mind waiting for the splash screen to disappear every time you load it up. so yeah, for the mixing of your tracks i'd go for one of the above, plus a healthy dose of knowing what sounds good and getting each audio track's volume and EQ right - this is very important. fuck compression/limiters and mastering software until you have got your mix to sound good without using any of that - just rely on volume adjustments and a bit of EQing. once you've mastered (no pun intended) the art of mixing, you probably won't need to use any other "mastering" FX etc but if you really want to add that something extra to your well mixed tracks, I always recommend T-Racks Pro as a very good mastering suite which can be used standalone - so you can mix your tracks properly in Reaper for example, then export, load up T-Racks and import into there for final mastering and tweaking of frequencies etc. Edited September 14, 2012 by BCM Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide BCM's signature Hide all signatures Bandcamp | Spotify | SoundCloud | Amazon | Apple Music | YouTube | YouTube Music | Deezer | Google Play Music Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/75685-does-anyone-know-a-good-mixng-and-mastering-software/#findComment-1877265 Share on other sites
