Had no idea, touring once again - he's doing his first solo project/album which seems to be a concept album about English fairies

booked my ticket for the Dublin gig. Seems he's doing the rounds everywhere else.

no samples online of what the new album will sound like, so who knows what's in store

Yeah I have and I know they are far from the stuff they made on earth 2. To be honest I was more pointing that frustration to other bands I've listened to that have solo projects that sound the same as the stuff they made together. But yeah, this could be cool. I'll keep an eye on it.

yea i don't know what to think - i'm hoping for it to be somewhat along the same lines as the last Earth gig I saw (which was one of the best live music experiences i've ever had) but also would be nice to see if he's taken the Earth sound and taken it further with field recording and sound design!

I saw him play one of these new songs at a signing here in Brisbane last week. I got him to sign my vinyl. Interesting and awkward dude. He just plugged in his laptop and started playing guitar over it and there is some english bird doing spoken word over it ...

what sort'a guitar playing was he doing? Earth'ish stuff or something completely different?

Saw this last week.

Odd experience.

can't say i was totally disappointed or totally impressed...it just was what it was. Very 'Unplugged' of sorts and bare bones.

I'd say the main issue with it was the his use of backing track (off his laptop) - which didnt sound so great in the live mix - however, if he had a live band playing it, i'd say could have sounded amazing...but that probably boils down to cost more then anything

best song of the night, think it was a cover:
