IV VV IV VV VIII sample in PS2 video game

Recommended Posts

Been listening to Draft for a few years now, but I've only just noticed this.

Someone uploaded a clip of a PS2 game called Ratchet & Clank. Take a look:

Now hit IV VV IV VV VIII, and listen closely around 0:51, 0:55, 1:00 and so on. Around that whole area, it sounds like this exact video game is being sampled. It's been processed and fucked around with (as per Ae), yet the texture of the sample is still pretty intact.

The game was released in 2002, just the time B&B would've been working on Draft. Sure, they might not be huge fans of video games, but it's always possible they heard about the game, or these sounds, from a friend or word of mouth.

So, do you think there's any truth to this? Let me know what you think. This could be a rare insight into how Ae get their source material.

I think you fucked up, because that video is only 19 seconds long

i thought the same thing but realized that those times refer to the track

ohh, okay. that makes more sense. I still don't hear it at all in the track though.

I'm pretty sure it's just a dog bark. Only Ae would know for sure.

I love ratchet and clank
