i've been having trouble lately. not about me making music, im already awesome at that lol. and i really don't care what people think about it, as long as i like it im happy. but i need help with what album i should work on next. i have several albums in mind that i want to make, but i don't know which one to start. i want to make a raggacore/happycore type album, an all bass guitar album and an all guitar album. so what do you guys think i should start working on first? i kinda figured i should do the bass or guitar one first simply cause ive only really been doing electronic right now. but then again, i might forget some things later on when i go to make my raggacore/happycore album. also, i already have several songs made for the bass and guitar albums, though i plan on making some more. but i have no songs for the Raggacore/happycore album and on top of that have no idea where to start with it. so like i said, which one do you guys think i should start up next? also, if any of you have/had a similar dillema what did you do? also if you guys know of a good place/vids to learn some tricks for the Raggacore album that would be greatly appreciated too.

Why don't you offer something construntive instead of just being a terrible person.

I'm pretty sure he was joking. Even if he wasn't, if your own fart clouds elevated you as buoyantly and effortlessly above criticism as you describe, why would you give a shit if anyone disapproved?

edit: lol just realized above post wasn't OP

I think this is a question that no one can really help you answer. BCM is just angry because he's already started a happyhardcore anal sex album.

well, i know it is kinda silly about asking it but im one of those people who if i have too many options with my music then nothing really gets done. i guess my question is more about, what would you guys more like to hear? and if you guys would even care if i wrote a Bass album or a guitar album. this being an electronic oriented forum. (and i don't mean squarepusher bass either where he combines it with synths and stuff, hence the "bass only"). Edited by Frankie5fingers

ok, so ive been talking to several people whos opinions i actually take into consideration and i think i have resolved my problem. even though i really didn't get any help whatsoever from anyone. thanks you lazy douchbags. lol but making this thread did help me straighten some things out.

so i guess i now have a different question that i would like answered by anyone. would any of you actually be interested in a Bass album? it might have a couple Squarepusher type songs in it but it will be bass guitar oriented, not electronic.

I wouldn't unless it was really good bass playing (Squarepusher) or the basslines and tunes were perfectly calibrated to each other (Meat Beat Manifesto - Subliminal Sandwich). Preferably both.

"Among the Clouds" is lovely. The whole lot of it is good in fact.

Bass album?

Yeah, do it. You got the chops. The only question is if you can exercise good taste.

calling it a bass guitar album really isn't very descriptive... it's like asking if people would like to hear a lyric album gnome sane

GHOST: have you killed Claudius yet
HAMLET: no
GHOST: why
HAMLET: fuck you is why
im going to the cemetery to touch skulls

what i mean is something like this

all it is is bass playing. no other instruments. and maybe a song or two in the style of Squarepusher's Hello Meow.

neat solo bass track.

to echo squee and our friend the foil: make whatever feels right (right now!), and work on all the projects simultaneously if your motivation is bouncing around.

lol, im already making it. ive got about 30 mins worth of ideas that ive been working on for the past year or two. im going for an hour. i can post a preview of one of my songs in progress. maybe ill do that and see what the reaction is. if people like it ill keep you updated, if not then youll never hear about this again.

F5F, you should definitely do a record with live/real bass.

Actually, this is something I've been thinking about a bit lately. I'm thinking about making an IDM/EDM (or whatever) record with live drums. I've been studying jazz and DnB drumming pretty intensely for the last couple years or so (I was a generic basher for 8 years before that). But I'm very intrigued by trying to tackle the "IDM" "tradition" in new ways.

So yeah, do it.
