BETTER BACKWARDS?

CORSAIR,DANDELION,and the end of SATELLITE ANTHEM ICARUS are amazin reversed! how many other artists could create music so good played forwards or backwards!

Some artists have an unconscious ability that affects the way they write music, and it's no question that Boards of Canada have this ability. I guess I'll explain it with a story:

The track "The Smallest Weird Number" was originally written some years before the Random 35 Track Tape was compiled. When they decided to include this track on the tape, they left it just the way they recorded it, a haunting melody with all the typical BoC inspirations.

But eventually, when they decided to run it backwards, they found something that must've surprised them a great deal. When this track is played in reverse, it reveals the most disturbing, most instinctively evil melody one can imagine. The most striking thing of all was that it was their own creation; they had written this melody themselves, without even realizing it.

It only happens to musicians with true depth. When they have enough intuition to find their deepest feelings, and to express them in their music, they can create elements which they are not even aware of. The little decisions they make as they write their melodies can be influenced by their unconscious mind, embedding a powerful message which, for whatever reason, chooses to hide itself.

In 2002, they decided to release this deeply personal piece of music on Geogaddi. They released it, not as it was recorded, but in the format it was meant to be heard all along. It begins with a NFBC sample, hinting at the true nature of the piece by playing it with the same backmask. The title on the release gives a subtle reference to the number 70, their favourite number. Whether or not this track goes by another name at Hexagon Sun remains a mystery...

'i saw drones' is backwards as it is, i think. play in reverse to hear the actual melody.

and reverse "a is to b as b is to c" to hear all those backwards samples...

Is there any way to play backwards using iTunes? I don't really have any music editing software besides Garageband(which doesn't really count)

In fact Boards of Canada have been running their entire career backwards. They have now reverted to foetal state, which is why they are no longer making music.
