MisterE
these are things of mine that i started on long ago (years), and i've been gradually trying to improve them whenever i get time. there are still things off about the mixes, such as levels and eqing and maybe some compression here and there would help. in general, with these tracks i liked trying to have a sort of 'lo-fi' sound to the mix, kind of like it was done on cassette, and actually some of it was. and some of it was also ran through tube radios. yeah. any comments, criticisms, suggestions, or whatever, i'll read and maybe consider. :) check them out here. if you listen to any you should maybe check out 'my sweet abyss' first, i think it's best. Guest Frankie5fingers
i really like The Foul Swamp of Death and Illusion. its very dark. the others are ok, but kinda lack the darkness vibe. as for suggestions, it seems like youve got it covered already. sorry for not being much help. Guest A/D
Listened to "Lost in A/D". I really enjoyed this, the sound design is great. It reminds me a bit of Lusine, who is a great inspiration to me. So that's probably why I wanted it to burst softly into warm, open tones after the first break in the track. However I still liked the last half. Well done and pretty soothing (except the end). MisterE
thanks guys On 10/12/2012 at 6:43 PM, THIS IS MICHAEL JACKSON said: derelict mountaintop miner - loved this, so rich in timbre and harmonies, very soundtrackish, sci-fi cosmic future lushness! keep up! i didn't like the ending part for a long time, and adjusted it over and over but nothing helped. then i distorted the bass by sending it through an FM transmitter to an old FM tube radio tuner, which i tuned to pick up the signal but then slightly tuned it off of the signal a bit. it causes a super awesome distortion effect unlike anything i've heard anywhere else. it can almost sound like ring modulation, like a dalek voice effect. then i added some filter sweeps over that, and now i like it, after a year of hating it. :) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/76029-from-the-depths-of-tartarus/#findComment-1889785 Share on other sites
