Get yer samples:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Berberian-Sound-Studio/dp/B00AS401WK/ref=sr_shvl_album_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1356902996&sr=301-1

Tracks are so short you can preview a good portion of the album. Was kinda perturbed by the harsh review in The Wire this month but I can get behind these samples.

*Listens to track 8, gets lump in throat*

Also of note: product description refers to a cameo by Steven Stapleton (NWW).

It was recorded in 2011, before her death.

Going by the Amazon clips this is something to look forward to.

Broadcast's soundtrack for the critically-acclaimed film Berberian Sound Studio was created by James Cargill and Trish Keenan before the latter's untimely death in early 2011.

Looks like a viable source - http://www.theskinny.co.uk/music/records/303522-broadcast_berberian_sound_studio

Beware, upon accessing this website, my norton blocked an attack.

To blindly copy what I mentioned when I watched the film (I wonder how many if any non-Broadcast audio sections will make it onto the OST):

If you're into sound design and dark brooding cinema then this really is a must see. For those that enjoy modular and analogue recording equipment and techniques this is pretty much pornography (hell where else would you have a line of dialogue in a film that talks about there being too much moisture on the condenser mic !). The sound design really was something else with every sound perfectly produced and mixed - for experimental music fans I noticed on the end credits that some of the audio work is attributed to Andrew Liles and Colin Potter and you really do notice their effort. I'd say possibly some of the best audio work I've ever heard in a film maybe bettering even that of the 3 hour soundscape of Enter The Void (if you've ever heard the bluray on a decent headphone setup you'll know how great it is).

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

i seem to recall a recent interview with James where he said some of the vocals were pulled from sketches Trish had sung into a dictaphone (have a feeling it may have been in this month's Wire). Don't have a source to hand but the impression I got was that Trish's contribution to the album was not fully completed before she passed away.

Here's a recent interview where he talks about the soundtrack:

this really sounds beautiful (especially the song @ 14.30). and it comes out in less than 5 days now

the song @ 16.22 blew me away

as always with p4k, because it's not a rap album they're not as enthusiastically "all over it"

Yeah if there was a trap beat under all the songs they'd give it 9.7 and talk about how it's the most resonant work of our time.

if you have spotify, check out this playlist of music that inspired the director, peter strickland
