The Bro - Office Funk (demo)

Hey guys something new I'm working. Just wanted to get your thoughts on it. Let me know if ya feeling or otherwise.

Got a head-nod outta me. You're on the right track with the overarching idea of your sound (Slazengeresque funk), but your production is still lacking. I'd make more use of phaser and distortion in the melodies and add some variable flange to the snare/kick to make them sound a bit crazier... Just some suggestions; it's your track ultimately. I just wanna hear it dirtier!

The track is ok, but the sounds are not. Your bassline doesn't really have any bass or bite, and the hi-hat does not fit very well, same goes for the snare. I'd try to change out that choir pad with something a bit dirtier as well, or at least eq or process it in some way to make it less presety. Maybe it's just the reverb you're using that feels out of place.

Yeah, some more dirt on the bass and drums would be nice. Perhaps variations on the drum hits' velocities too. I can dig the little melody.
