Elder Scrolls online

So ive been keeping up with this and for the most part am on the edge about it. i really don't know how to feel about this game. being a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series i should be excited about this. but everyone here knows the routine. play the new MMO have fun, a month later get bored and then go back to WoW. they recently just released some gameplay footage and it looks cool but nothing really new. the one thing that i do think is cool though is there are no shard servers, its all done on one Megaserver. but thats just about the only new thing.

 

 

is the fact that its Elder Scrolls good enough reason to play? anyone here planning on buying? do you think it will sustain, or just end up being another SWTOR? What do you think?

would never play a mmo that's only about leveling and itemisation,

WoW is the biggest crap of a game ever existed, yet every new mmo tries to copy it...

 

I'd play it with free PVP and full LOOT

 

Check Darkfall 2.0 that's a REAL nice game

I expect Elder scroll online to be like lord of the rings online...

elderscrolls online looks like the original darkfall on steroids, graphics wise and with the open skill system. Original darkfall launch on eu was the funnest game i've ever played.

yeah it does. it almost like they just decided to take Darkfall and throw in the Elder Scrolls lore.

I bet you can add this game to the pile of starved and lonely MMOs 3 months after its release.

 

I remember hearing somewhere that even the developers who were showing it off at E3 weren't super enthusiastic about it.

i still play skyrim every now and again and am a fan of the elder scrolls, but yeah, always end up going back to WoW...must be some subliminal flashing images in it or something, i can't give it up.

thats what ive been leaning towards, and most likely it will eventually be F2P. and yeah, i saw the interview at E3 on this. its like they just didn't give a shit.

If its on the playstation I will probably end up getting it.

 

But to be honest I play games so slowly, I gave up on Oblivion before I finished it because Skyrim came out. I could still play Skyrim for another 4 years and still not find everything.

looks crappy. they're throwing the lore out the window on this one. dunmer allied with nords and argonians and molag bal randomly attacking tamriel in a war that has never been mentioned before? wow, ok. not to mention that the whole idea of having an mmo in the elder scrolls world sorta nullifies the theory that the player character has achieved chim (because you wouldn't have ultimate control in the game).

 

i have heard a theory that the whole game will actually take in the daedric plane of coldharbor and *not* in the actual tamriel, which would explain why anyone can "become king" in the game--molag bal's sphere is domination. thus, having a bunch of people trying to "dominate" the game would make a lot of sense in that context. i really doubt this is the case, though. just wishful thinking.

and yeah, im the same with Morrowind. i always go back to that game and i always find new crap to do every playthrough. for oblivion, i dominated that bitch. did everything you could do multiple playthroughs. and as for Skyim im actually playing through again right now. ive found about 80-90% of all locations and done a shit load of stuff. have about 200 total hours in and i still find something new here and there each time i play. but really the thing i love the most is the lore. this online thing just looks like itll be ElderScrolls now with PvP and very little story at all, and its just so that they could say "weve got an online game now!"

My roommate and I are playing Skyrim right now. I really dig the music. I love this game, but there are so many things wrong with it that I want to send a letter to the developer. Right, now I'm rocking a Khajit Thief/Battle Mage build. It is working to good effect. Vampirism seems quite useless.

Is it gonna be a pay-to-play like WoW or are the servers gonna be free? If it's pay-to-play then fuck that, if it's free I may give it a try... never really played any MMO's unless Diablo 2/3 count.

Elder Scrolls is all about its beauty and immersing you into it and the story. This online variant leaves all that behind, its no longer that Elder Scrolls game we all love. They need to at least keep the current Skryim engine and make that online or use a better already made online engine.

Elder Scrolls and an MMO? There's no way this won't be terrible.

I still play Skyrim (as noted about 10 months ago).

 

I hear that Elder Scrolls Online WILL be ported to the Playstation now which is good news, although I begrudge paying a subscription cost for any games so we shall see how it goes. Basically I wouldnt play it enough to warrant a monthly charge, but if there was an online per hour charge then that would be different.

still really havent heard much that would make me want to buy the game. i'd probably get it when i have a free week or so and only pay for a single month. the only reason id get it is just to see the story. and it wouldnt surprise me if there is no pickpocketing. ever since Morrowind theyve been eliminating skills left and right.

So, has anyone got this at all? I got it last week and have only played it for a few hours as work has been busy as hell so far. I really want to knuckle down and give it sometime this weekend!

 

I'm a level 5 Dark Elf Templar. I wanted to role something close to a Paladin and the Templar class seems to be closest with it's self-healing abilities.

It's just come out on PS4.

 

Anyway I played this game when it was in closed beta. Thought it was meh and reviews I read when it officially came out didn't think any better. Felt lifeless af and apparently still is, looking at some videos right now.

I used to work for these guys.

 

They've fixed a LOT since launch. I'm replaying it at the moment and it's a much better experience than it initially was.
