Still crap at mastering, and find it hard to break away from traditional song structures - but starting to enjoy the transition from Reason to Logic now.

Right, just reworked the middle bit and tried improving the mastering - I'm a bit tempted to gig some of these tunes now and just play guitar alongside them, not sure how they'll go down though. Feel free to rate or slate it.

Thanks, its weird how you completely lose judgement over your own stuff. I will gig them soon I think, just have to figure out how to use mainstage.

its definitely getting there. and i think you should gig with this. i would go listen to someone playing over this.

UPDATE: It's because of old Frankie's comment here ^ that I decided to air these tunes in front of an audience. I didn't want to just stand in front of a laptop pressing buttons so I made up a load of guitar parts to replace some of the instruments. I played my first gig the other day and I'm happy to report it went OK. I'll be playing a 'proper' gig in a couple of months and my mate's going to do some visuals, as I think people would get bored of looking at my sausage fingers and apparent lack of shoulders. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for your honesty and encouragement - I wouldn't be playing these gigs otherwise...

dude, way to go! sounds great.

dont know if ya know him but you should look up a guy called Buckethead. he does exactly this when hes by himself. watch a couple of his solo performances, it might give you some ideas on how to keep the crowd interested, and other ideas as well.

Cheers mate, just had a look - mad that I've never hear of him considering he's so well known... It's a tough one because I don't want to be seen as a guitarist or someone who's playing along to a backing track; the emphasis needs to be on the whole song, not just what I'm playing really. I think having some visuals would change things a lot though, as it'd take the focus off me. If that fails I was thinking of just wearing a Robocop helmet.
