2012 Underground House Music Retrospective

If anyone's interested, here's my short (that is, CD-size) mixtape that showcases some of the excellent underground house music that came out in 2012. Starts out hard, but quickly plunges into ultra-deep almost hypnagogic territory then slowly climbs back out and finally ends with some more leftfield cuts.

Don't know much about this label, but Kai Alce is always great. First heard this tune in a Fred P podcast, which says it all really

Mix Mup and Kassem Mosse - Birds Flying In The Sun Like U Know How, from "MM/KM" on Trilogy Tapes

Madteo - Very Sweaty Palms feat. Sensational (Kassem Mosse remix), from "ReCast" on Meakusma

All star lineup :P I think many people were happy to discover Madteo this year (as was I)

Niro - Starship Hookers (MRSK Remix), from "My Dilemma" on Unclear

This EP has a nice remix by Fred P on it as well

Alex Danilov - Deep S, from "Arma 02" on Arma

Redshape - Flexx, from "Dekmantel Anniversary Series Part 5" on Dekmantel

Didn't like his album this year very much tbh, but this and his EP on Martyn's label were excellent

Jonsson/Alter - Acapellan (Donato Dozzy Remix), from "Mod Mixes" on Kontra-Musik

Smallpeople - Loon's Groove, from "Salty Days" on Smallville

All time favorite label, had MANY great releases this year

Juju & Jordash - Echomate, from "Techno Primitivism" on Dekmantel

Good album, amazing producers. They're always really original, the house music cousins of IDM

Magic Mountain High - Untitled, from "Workshop xx" on Workshop

No year goes by without Workshop blowing everyone away. This is a collaboration between Juju & Jordash and Move D btw
