Boards of Canada Have you ever dreamt about Boards of Canada?

I have dreamt twice about BOC. They were both really bizare.

1st dream: I was walking in the corridors of my school heading to my class, and suddenly, I hear Aquarius playing from nowhere. I thought it was from the intercom and so I asked my teacher, who were standing beside her class door, "where is that song from?". She replied me " I don't know".

2nd dream: I dreamt that Michael Sandison was kinda member of my family. I talked to him, I met him at my house and at school. And when I wanted his autograph, he mysteriously disappeared. This is sad... :(

This subforum lacks of new topics so I created one. There is nothing else to discuss about BOC except Trans Canada Highway and Dayvan Cowboy music video. This topic is quite original, I think.

Actually one of the most vivid, real-seeming dreams I ever had involved BoC. One of those dreams where as soon as you wake up you actually force yourself to write it down, and then later toss out the paper you wrote it on. It's been a couple of years so the details have faded, and they woudn't sound that interesting anyway.

It started with me going to attend this nightime live BoC event, it was in a brightly lit house, with the audience sitting in the large central room, on mats on the floor or something. Instead of being a normal concert it was more of an interactive call-and-response type deal. Sounds sort of hippyish drum-circle-esque, or predictably cultlike, but it felt really cool, a relaxed yet energized vibe.

The next day I went back to the same place, and there was a person at a desk near the door with a notepad taking signatures. I gathered from one of the other people in line that you had to sign some sort of wait list. Later, perhaps because I signed the list to meet them, I got to meet Mike and Marcus, it was in the "basement" of the same building, you had to walk down this hallway and they were hanging out in the room at the end. I remember we had a really interesting conversation, but I've since forgotten what was said.

I know, it sounds cliche and dull, everything you'd expect if your subconcious was toying around with BoC associations. But the amazing thing about the dream was how real it seemed. I still have a sense-impression of lots of it, for example the wet-pungent smell of the plants outside the door of the building, the cracks and surface detail and lighting of the room where I met Mike and Marcus. Even the conversations in the dream were very realistic, for example when I had to sign the list to - meet mike and marcus? Join their cult? - I had this very natural seeming and detailed conversation with the person taking names.

The whole thing was really cool, had a great feeling to it.

i listened to boards while going to sleep and sleeping and i dreamt total armageddon. chaos. asteroids falling from the sky, fires lava, explosions etc.

no joke.

I wish dreams were recordable. We could watch them again and again as much as we want! :laughing:

I think everyone wishes this. If someone were able to devise a way to record dreams they would be bajillionaires.

I realize my chances of getting a straight answer are slim to nothing, but what is up with this 'McGriff' thing you guys are so into?

All I wanted to know by that was if boc had some sort of shamanistic ability to affect the subconsious or if it was just me.

I'd never fucking cried until boc.

Whoa, just the other night I dreamt that I could play Peacock Tail on the guitar. I just picked up the guitar and just randomly played it (I have no idea how to play the guitar), and out it came.

I don't know why i'm saying this, but I had a dream about BoC the other day.

It was wierd. Basically i was in a record store asking for stuff and i asked if the guy had the new BoC record in yet. He said yes. So he poured what looked like Lemonade into a plastic cup and gave it to me. As I drank it, it was like my taste buds were actually my ears and i could kind of 'hear' the record.
