Apples

I'm making breakfast and the idea popped into my head of eating an apple with my omelet. The following thought was "fuck that, apples are overrated."

Apples are the reliable fruit. The stable choice that would suit any occasion. Apples rule!!

while pineapples clearly rule, it's true apples are maybe the most reliable of fruits.

I've never understood the whole thing of Cheese and something sweet.

Cheese should be on toast. with Marmite.

What apples lack in taste and consistency, they more than make up for in price and ease of eating.

I vote underrated.

Apples aren't bad but I always want to punch someone in the face who is eating one in my vicinity.

I rate: undecided.

you're not wrong, but don't knock it til you've tried it. cheese goes with pretty much everything.

a good mature cheddar with some sweet apples is fucking lovely. also realy nice on top of a dark fruitcake (cheese that is).

fruit acts as a palate cleanser when you're eating loads of cheese. especially if you're eating a cheese platter.. stops your palate from being overwhelmed by cheesiness and you can taste the individual cheeses better. wine or chutney are also good for that. the addition of sweet and sour flavours to savoury things is also pretty accepted as something that is enjoyable.

Pink ladies are pleb-tier lol.

Honeycrisp = perfectly crisp and perfectly sweet

Red delicious = soft and not quite sweet enough

etc. etc.

There is no arguing, pink ladies are the greatest. Honeycrisps are good though.

No love for Granny Smith Apples? Pink Ladies and Honeycrisps are lovely, but they don't give me the tartness I desire.

Red Delicious are down there with Crab Apples as far as I'm concerned.

Havarti or Gouda with a good red apple will give me the shingles (in the best possible way)

Edit: Red delicious are indeed the B-class apples, this is indisputable. But evolution is cool, it will weed out that Class-B excuse for a tasteless fruit.
