my friend made some songs on an sh101 and asked me to link them here so there we are

Some decent stuff, decent ideas.

But to me it doesn't really have the vibe of an album. Like it doesn't dig in enough, doesn't unravel enough.

He definitely has some chops and an ear for tunes, though. Just tell him to spend ten times as much time on the stuff. And tell him to spend $50 bucks on some 12-bit Alesis reverb unit on ebay.

Yeah I definitely think it's solid.

But it sounds like a sequence of demos to me.

I like it, has a nice feeling of its own. Don't really agree with Limpy here; this sounds as finished as the artist wanted it, and that's what I think matters.

Second to last one really reminds me of old looney tunes music. The melody 8 secs in.

Love the (slightly detuned?) melody line on In the Forest.

Polar Bear sounds like it's lifted from the soundtrack of some weird old TV programme. Would have liked that one to be a bit longer.

Stneicna Eht fo Elpmet is really evocative as well. Great stuff.
