Hugh Mughnus
Hey guys and gals, I recently ordered a turntable (settled on a project debut 3 se with upgraded cartridge). The seller contacted me before shipping it and notified me that it is 220-240v. As this is not compatible with my 110v 60hz plugs, I need to find a solution! Is the only way to get around this to get an upconverter/transformer? If so, will 800 watts cover it? I googled this issue but couldn't find an answer to how much wattage I would need. cheers, SG Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Hugh Mughnus's signature Hide all signatures On 1/19/2020 at 5:27 PM, Richie Sombrero said: Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Soloman Tump
Depends on the power that the turntable draws, which i'm guessing is not much... so probably yeah (?) Guest A/D
It depends on the electrical power you need. Look for step up transformers and see if you can find one that matches the needs of the turntable. If not I would cancel if you still can. Hugh Mughnus
Thanks guys. I was kind of worried that a step up transformer was the only way to address the issue. Going to have to cancel Edited January 14, 2013 by StephenG Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Hugh Mughnus's signature Hide all signatures On 1/19/2020 at 5:27 PM, Richie Sombrero said: Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Guest chunky
hi, buy a converter check the wattage on the record player, there's probably a little label on there somewhere that will tell you afaik most wattage ratings are a little bit dishonest (or not clear) so if it says you need 15w on your gadget you wanted higher than 15w converter a 300w 110-240 converter would probably be enough for you, should cost about 30 or 40 dollars at your local hobbyist electronics shop if you only need 3w or something get a 15w small one maybe you could always ask the shop if you can return it if it's the wrong one Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/77195-110-vs-220-240v/#findComment-1931635 Share on other sites
