yeah I found about it while looking for autechre leaks.

sounds nice...but my ears are registering this as merriweather post pavillion while I listen to it.

which means I'd have to listen to it a couple more times to realize I'm not listening to merriweather post pavillion

they are using some tasty patches, that's for sure!

I like this album! it gets nice and meditative towards the last couple of trax, very good

it gets more and more animal collective towards the end. not much in common with "north", which i loved, but i like it way better than most of warps "indierock" - signings. good thing you can't skip.

I just found out they're playing Berlin one day before I leave Germany. I'll be there!

Just gave the album a stream and I really like it. I was well in love with North when that came out, and while this is much different, Im glad theyre not repeating themselves.

Also the more I watch this video the more I love this track

@marked: you know gretchen? bad soundsystem and weird people... usually. but amazing booking. soo... i'm wondering if i should go.

^ watched that video earlier, really quite enjoyed it. Completely different from "north" and rather tasty. I can hear the animal collective comparisons, but they are definitely still doing their own thing. Will buy this.

I've yet to go there. Been studying south of Berlin for just a semester.

I looked into the supporting band for this show and I reeeeally don't like them. The band 'Foool' from the UK. The track I listened to has interesting instrumental but then.. the vocals.. are just not.. good.

The vinyl looks pretty nice:-

I liked the first album. This sounds very different though.

Btw the stream is on Pitchfork. Too busy with other new releases to listen atm though.

Gave this a try this morning not expecting to like it, turns out I did. Get's very blissful in the last 3 tracks and loving the first single quite a bit too.

Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Embarrassing. Shove your privilege.

You can now stream individual tracks from npr and, surely, other places.

Armonica is my favorite track! The watery psychadelic vocals are just unlike anything ive heard along with that beautiful skittering beat

I *really* don't need any new music right but this is extremely tempting. Sounds like it could be perfect listening leading into spring.

Really enjoyed this! I have to be honest, haven't listened to North, is it worth checking out?

I haven't listened to the whole North album, but just skipping through it on youtube, it sounds completely different from News From Nowhere...

Not my cup of tea

I liked the song Two Chords from North quite a bit. It was featured on the Kode9 / Burial mix. I couldn't get over how it sounded like a modern version of Spiritualized & I thought the band had immense potential especially when they signed with Warp.

The rest of North was OK, but didn't really pull me in.

I was really curious to hear this new album to see how they've expanded upon their sound.

A lot of reviews are saying Animal Collective & Grizzly Bear... I can't stand Animal Collective's cluttered spastic sound & don't get on well with the feminine sound of Grizzly Bear.

Grizzly Bear not so much, maybe it's the WARP label-mate conclusion being made.

I am constantly told I'll like Animal Collective but haven't heard all but a few songs. If it's like this I'd love it. Maybe Darkstar sounds like older AC?
