"Proposition Joe" from The Wire - rip

Robert F. Chew -- best known for playing Proposition Joe on "The Wire" -- was found dead yesterday in his apartment in Baltimore ... TMZ has learned.

According to the coroner in Baltimore, Chew died of cardiovascular disease. "Morbid obesity" was listed as a contributing factor.

Chew had very little acting experience before "The Wire" or after. He was on the cult HBO show -- which took place in Baltimore -- for five seasons.

Jamie Hector, who played Marlo on the show, tweeted this afternoon, "I didn't want to believe this #RIP Robert F Chew, Prop Joe will always be remembered Robert Chew will always be loved and missed!"

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

What I meant was, despite being a fucking great scene, nobody appears to have put it up on the youtubes. Closest I could get was the other scene in Prop Joe's shop with Omar and the clock.

yup. RIP Prop Joe and Mr. Chew.....you played a part in something legendary.

 

I loved Prop Joe's character too....he acted like a jester/fool in front of the other big leaders, but the man was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Great stuff.

just making my way through the series right now. Almost done with season 2 now.

 

i got a little delayed cause I had to rewatch that scene of nick sobotka's girl's breasts over and over and over and over...

 

 

good show though, but lol it's sometimes stupid and racist. like the ONLY upper-middle class black dude in the show (daniels) only got there cause he stole a bunch of money? lol

And Robert F. Chew's death sure is very sad news. :(

also we're supposed to believe that David Simon and Ed Burns, two over 50 white ex-cops, understand the domestic life of two black lesbians? Like at all? those scenes are unbearably stilted and painful. give me a break.

 

ANYWAY, RIP robert chew. Prop Joe is great.

Crazy that he was plucked from obscurity. He was a great actor and Prop Joe was a fantastic character. RIP.

 

 

Also, +1 for the GF's boobs.

well, I think you have something on that point, those scenes are a bit awkward. And one thing that pissed me off was, if I remember correctly, Kima was the one character whose arc they didn't wrap up nicely at the end of the show. It's like they just forgot about her.

I have only a hazy recollection, but from what I recall they ended with a montage (MONTAGE!) that touched on almost everyone...except Kima. I remember her being conspicuous by her absence. But I could be wrong.
