autopilot
ok, so for this project i'm making a series of 3" discs, which will all come in one giant totally awesome & artistic package that in no way is ripping off analord. i'll just use this thread and post whenever i have a new installment done. the first installment is finished, and i would describe it as "audiomancer on coffee & steroids & meth". it's called "vision 1" (omg) and is available for download here (watmm). 192 mp3: http://www.earvalve.com/mp3/vision%201%20%5bmp3%5d.zip 192 ogg: http://www.earvalve.com/mp3/vision%201%20%5bogg%5d.zip enjoy. any comments appreciated. i am a busy man with my constant travelling, and when i'm on the pc it's either to write music or download porn, but i'll try my best to return the favor. <3 <3 <# -wes Edited November 30, 2005 by earvalve Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/773-earvalve-visions/ Share on other sites
Guest wasps
nice concept! i love those dinky little discs. just listening to the 1st track i gather this is deliberately retro, and as such it's ok. it's a little slow to build, and when the kick and hat come in you quickly want that to progress too. maybe a little too simplistic to hold attention... same with the second. the beat is more interesting, but it still has the same vibe. ooh! its gone all heavy beat + bass. that was cool, just as the thing was getting close to 'stop time'. this is more sucessful than the previous tune, i think. for my taste, the production is a bit empty, but that's not a fault necessarily as it seems like it's a conscious effort to create that feel. it's just ocurred to me this is probably the wrong type of stuff for me to review actually... autopilot
Hornetz - Yeah I guess it's "retro". A bunch of people have described my stuff as such, but I mostly listen to metal so I don't really know what's considered modern in electronic anymore. Sorry it wasn't quite to your tastes, but much appreciation for listening. <3 Obscurologist - Actually the original idea was to give it away as Christmas gifts to my friends, but it looks like it won't be finished in time...if I keep with my ambitious plans for it, that is. I need to set up paypal or something before I can sell anything anyways. I'll still post the stuff on Watmm though just because I like you guys. Guest The Aztec Mystic
Approaching the stratosphere was pretty nice, i was more fond of the build up than the more hectic nature of the last half. I didnt like that basskick preset much, but when you brought in the drill n bass rush it sounded more fitting. Basically the sound and swirling filters of the first half did it for me, pretty old skool sounding but good none the less. Some nice melodies again in the second track The Fountain Of Seratonin, the plaid like bells , but some of the digital synthage put me off abit, sounded abit too clean and sort of offkilter with the grungey mid frequency rhythm. Overall though pretty good, you have skills at arrangement. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/773-earvalve-visions/#findComment-15117 Share on other sites
Guest Josefmcb
in approaching the stratosphere is that beat a little too high up in the mix or something? doesn't seem to fit quite as comfortably as it should.. some definite metal influence in that track too. i like these tracks but neither seem as catchy as previous stuff (though they would fit real snug into an album) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/773-earvalve-visions/#findComment-16921 Share on other sites
