I like it (as opposed to soundcloud which I find too over-bloated) so I thought maybe some of you might find it attractive as well. Basically it`s in the vein of soundcloud but:

there is no limit on bandwidth;

you can upload up to 1000 tracks;

you pay 5$ a month if you make more than 30$, otherwise it`s free;

it`s possible to sell stuff straight from player which embeds facebook, twitter etc;

sync with soundcloud/youtube, meaning you can upload track to official.fm and it will upload also to those two places;

only supports mp3, but I think 320Kbps is good enough;

usual statistics etc crap;

makes a nice link http://official.fm/you;

and the most important thing for me- it looks very simple, I`m having basically a blank page with a player in the middle.

I know everybody is sick of the "next best thing" but for a person who don`t uses soundcloud and wants to have a place where to keep his music in a simple page with a player it`s quite cool. And finally once in lifetime my handle was still available. So yeah, just a heads up.

I hope this or something like this catches on soon. soundcloud makes me feel dirty

320Kbps is a breath of fresh air (relatively speaking).

Hopefully this thing becomes competitive and forces Soundcloud (et all) to offer 320Kbps.

made an account here a about a year ago after finding some distal tracks up there. seemed dead. Would be nice to see it has picked up activity.

wow this looks great. I will totally sign up. i don't mind soundcloud though other than the track limits. I think that's meant to be a crap filter though. haha. They should make it give you more space if you have a lot of listens.

they contacted me about a year ago asking if i wanted to set up an account there and if they could interview me for their news letter or whatever, i made an account and never heard from them again. had pretty much forgotten the site even existed until i read the title of this thread.

So I just got an email from official.fm staff saying this:

The only things I've uploaded that may infringe copyright are short sampled vocal clips in some of my original songs. I have three separate aliases on official.fm, and I can't figure out what songs set off the copyright alarms. I'm also not offering any of my music for sale, and the form they want me to fill out requires that I have a link to beatport, itunes, or something similar, a booking agency, as well as a ISRC or UPC code (?)... just to defend myself. wtf.

This is pretty lame. Gonna stop recommending this site to people I guess, sheesh.

I'm overall interested in space, but this looks also good. More personalizable too. But where do I search the music? I only see playlists.

weird, and yeah, fuck em! no shortage of places to store tunes on the internet.
